Fair and honest review of the Pacesaver Passport Junior mobility scooters.
PACESAVER PASSPORT JUNIOR, Small Mobility Scooter. Rating, Recommended use, Outdoors / Indoors I kept putting this review off not only because of being very busy, but I also kept looking for something to go wrong with at least one that we have sold. Well we have been selling this model for over two years now and still have not had a single problem outside of a couple of rear shrouds cracked during shipping.
The Passport Junior was designed to be used indoors and out and does both very well.
The 41-3/4" length, narrow width, and three wheel configuration make it maneuverable enough for indoor use. Outdoors the scooter proved to be as stable as any other smaller 3 wheeled scooter that I have tried, more so then most others.
The tire size is 2.5 x 9" on the front and rear. A good compromise of stability and maneuverability. Standard tires are pneumatic but foam filled tires are available.
The seat is 18" wide and 18" deep for comfort. The armrest are a little short for my taste, but wide enough to be comfortable. The seat swivels for easy transfers. I used to have concerns about the seat swivel lock holding up, but after seeing some that had been in use for over 10 years with no problems I had to accept that it works.
To swivel the seat you pull the lever on the right side towards the rear of the chair, to lock the seat you push it towards the front of the chair. The seat is available in vinyl or velvet material.
The Passport Junior disassembles into 4 pieces for transport or most trunk type lifts will handle it with ease. Heaviest piece weighs about 38 pounds.
Top speed is 4.3 mph, not fast but all the speed you want in a smaller scooter.
Options include a seat lift rated for 300 lbs, light packages, baskets, and much more.
While not as cheap as many small mobility type scooters on the market, I feel it is one of the best values. I would highly recommend it to family, friends, and customers.
PROS
Excellent reliability. Easy to use, even to recharge. Parts are readily available. Fits it designed purpose very well. An excellent small scooter. Very reasonable pricing.
CONS
Could be a little smaller.
