We strongly urge everyone to use an anti-virus program and a firewall. A firewall is very important if you have a cable or DSL connection to the internet. A good firewall and anti-virus program will not only protect your computer, but can help protect others by not letting harmful programs spread. They can also help to keep your computer from being used in attacks on others.

A good spyware remover can increase the performance of your computer plus make it more stable.

There are several very good free programs that you can download. In many cases there is also an even better pay version for those that want it.

Spyware is a program designed to track your movements around the web and report back to the company or person who gave it to you.
Most spyware is included in tracking cookies or in some free downloaded software, and you are almost never told it is being installed on your computer.
